I am often asked why I started Superior Home Services, Inc. (SHSI) and my answer is always the same. I stared the company to make a difference in people’s lives. I know you are saying “What the heck is he talking about?” Here is an example…

Mrs. Johnson called to have her home cleaned. Most people think the
reason she called was her house was dirty (and it may have been). As
Mr. Paul Harvey would say, “…and now for the rest of the story…”

Mrs. Johnson works full time and has three children. She feels she
hardly has any time with her kids as it is, let alone after she spends time
cleaning her house. So what our service does is buys time for the ones
she loves. Mrs. Johnson is constantly faced with a dilemma of the
things she needs to do for her family, and wanting to spend quality time
with her family. In her words: “What your service has done for me has
allowed me to spend the quality time with my family without the worry
of the mundane things of life.”

We also started the company to give our employees a great place to work. We wanted it to be a place where they could feel as though they would have a say in the direction that the company was headed and how it would grow.

The last reason we started the company was so we could give back to our community. SHSI gives thousands of dollars worth of service to the needy and to charities so that can raffle or auction them off.

As owner of the company, my wife and I give almost all of the profit from SHSI to One Spark, a charity that has a goal to changed the world one Spark (random act of kindness) at a time. So as a company we feel that with every pest spray, carpet cleaned, lawn cared for, airduct cleaned, Christmas light job, water treated, gutters covered, gutters cleaned, energy audit, or snow removed, that our company has made a
difference in people’s lives.

So, when left with the choice of who to use, ask yourself this question:
“Do I want to be part of changing the world one Spark at a time?” We
as a company will do our part. Will you do yours and allow us to serve
you?
